A Not-So-Exciting Adventure with Noodle & Dad: "The Bridge"
Little Noodle was very excited yet again, because guess what? She was traveling with her dad. And traveling with her dad always meant something more than she thought it did. As they drove down the highway she, of course, watched out the window, expectation rising. Suddenly a structure appeared ahead - The wondrous Sherman Minton Bridge. She gazed at the metal humps rising to the sky.
“We’re about to drive over that bridge,” her dad said, noticing her sudden interest.
“We’re going over that?!” Noodle exclaimed, awestruck.
“Yep!” He confidently replied.
“Okay, Dad. I trust you,” she said bracing herself, her tiny hands now tightly closed fists.
As they began to inch closer to the bridge, her little heart raced. She began to hold her breath right before they went over. She prepared herself for the car to tilt backwards to make it over the two giant skyscraper-like mounds of the bridge. Suddenly she was no longer afraid but very confused. They were staying on the road, going under the metal structures.
“Oh, I thought you meant we were going to drive on top!” She said laughing with relief.
Her dad learned just how trusting little Noodle was that day. Such a dreamer, yet always learning new things when with her dad, unexpected less exciting things, but still learning nonetheless. This has been a not-so-exciting adventure with Noodle and Dad.
