A Not-So-Exciting Adventure with Noodle & Dad: "The Moles"

Little Noodle was outside playing kickball with her brother and parents. It was a family-centric sport they partook in during summer evenings after dinner was done, and the sun refused to sink down for bed.

It was Noodle’s turn to kick, and her dad was beside her, ready to help coach her when something caught both their eye. Tiny, furry, black, ball-like creatures popped up from the ground and ran around frantically for a mere 20 seconds or so before blindly finding their pre-dug holes and disappearing back underground in a flash.

“What were those?!” little Noodle shrieked in excitement.

“Those were moles!” Dad said, amused, himself. “I can’t believe they just came up out of the ground like that.”

They both chuckled together over the split-second moment that brought them both so much joy and wonder—stirred up by creatures that lived underground who shared their faces, unknowingly creating a rare memory for the two to share.

This has been a not-so-exciting adventure with Noodle and Dad.
